The AMRC with Boeing is dedicated to working with manufacturing businesses, from global aerospace giants to local SMEs.  Within the AMRC, the Integrated Manufacturing Group (IMG) specialises in developing robotic systems for low-volume, high value markets, where robots have to carry out significantly more complex and variable tasks with greater accuracy.

Development of the AMRC’s highly reconfigurable Factory 2050 has also begun, which will combine technologies including advanced robotics, flexible automation, unmanned workspace, off-line programming in virtual environments linked to plug-and-play robotics, 3D printing from flexible automated systems, man-machine interfaces, and new programming and training tools. The building will have an area of around 6,730 sq m, and will be constructed largely from glass, to showcase the advanced manufacturing technologies being developed within.
